So leave it to me to find a tasty drink that is perfect for hot summer days as soon as the weather has dropped a good 20 degrees from its 90+ days, but nonetheless. I found one. Seriously, I am never buying iced coffee from Mcdonald's again.
I figure, since I'm Greek (only 1/8, but I'm proud of it!) it would be appropriate to share a little Greek treat with everyone--to be honest though, I'm not quite sure what makes this treat Greek, BUT its good and its Greek, so does it matter?
This is a little spin on your average iced coffee, and the best part is that I have now found a use for the instant coffee I have hanging out in my cupboards!
Ingredients:
2 teaspoons instant coffee
1-2 teaspoons sugar
ice cubes
1/4 cup cold water
1/3 cup chilled milk
Optional: Whipped cream
Optional: Flavored creamer
To prepare:
Place instant coffee, sugar, ice cubes and water in a jar with a tight-fitting lid; shake vigorously for 30 seconds, or until frothy (the more froth the better!).
FROTH! |
Stir in milk (and creamer if you desire), and top with a dollop of good 'ol whipped cream!
That's all!
Now if you are a little naughty you can add a flavored creamer to this already delicious treat. I was REAL naughty because I added "Italian Cream"-----the Italians and Greeks get a long right? So my Greek Iced coffee has a little Italian mixed in, but just color me multicultural because it was yummy!
(Oh, and it is only 57 calories! ---that is before all the naughty stuff!)
It's suggested to enjoy by using a straw..... |
But then you can't sport a sweet 'stache like this! |
Thanks ahead of time for not judging me for my no make-up morning bed head look :)
Opa!
Yum! I've been looking for a way to make a tasty coffee drink that doesn't require a coffee maker - thanks! And I love your bed-head look. Adorable. :)
